Want to prepare for the 2012 elections, discuss hot topics like water and the state budget, and learn more about the League's "Observer Corps"? Saturday, February 11, 2012	8:30am-12:00pm	Neighborhood Church 301 North Orange Grove Blvd Pasadena, CA 91103	Yours? Mine? Ours? Exploring Privatization. A free League community forum which will explore various models of privatization from complete divestiture (selling off public assets and public spaces) to contracting out services, sharing services with other cities and public/private partnerships. Local examples will be provided. The emcee and panel moderator will be Jan Sanders, director of Libraries and Information Services for Pasadena. Following the presentations, the audience will break into groups to discuss specific topics including public safety, municipal services, transportation and roadways, and property, facilities and open spaces. Refreshments and a resource table with handouts on the issue of privatization will be available. The forum is free, but donations are welcome. Every two years state and local Leagues participate in the LWVUS Program Planning process by making recommendations concerning program issues - this is how we reamin a grassroots organization.

The annual meeting of the League of Women Voters of Los Angeles County ILO. Our featured speaker will be Trudy Schafer, Senior Director for Program, League of Women Voters of California.
